A Glimpse into Hunter Kennels

Long before I began raising Golden Retrievers, I was reading and learning about them with my pet Golden, Sasha. Sasha, simply put, enticed me to fall in love with the breed, as she was exceptionally obedient and literally raced through the obedience levels with real zeal. Everyone who met Sasha loved her immediately, as enthusiasm was her strongest trait. She taught me a lot about the breed and what their needs, personalities and capabilities are.
That was twenty years ago.
I then began raising Goldens when Hunter, my foundation female, came into my life from a wonderful breeder and mentor, Marjean Verseveldt of Eirene Goldens. I will be forever grateful to Marjean for trusting me with this precious girl. Hunter has been exceptionally even-tempered, wise and intelligent and Marjean has been a true mentor, very patient and willing to share information and advice. From her, I have learned much of what I now know. Hunter produced 3 beautiful, strong litters before she retired. Her pups have intelligence and beauty and have made many people very happy. From Hunter, Hunter Kennels was born, giving me and my family the chance to raise for awhile, those beautiful little souls who go out into the world and bring joy, love and companionship to their families.
My family and I live out in the country where my Goldens have the opportunity to experience many different things. They are well socialized in the art of river and lake swimming (and the odd dugout), wildlife, forests, domestic farm animals and people. We very much enjoy our Goldens and their happy, sporty nature. We realize how much an important part of our lives and activities they are and we are thankful everyday for our Golden Retrievers.
